CHARLOTTE, NC — Sunny skies will return to the Charlotte metro region Thursday, according to National Weather Service forecasters.
Following days of rain and chilly temperatures, conditions are set to warm up Thursday, which should have a high of 56 degrees. Friday will also be a day of sunshine, with similar temperatures, however, the chance of rain creeps back into the picture by Saturday.
Rain is expected Saturday night and all day Sunday.

A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. West northwest wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. West northwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Thursday (March 22)
Sunny, with a high near 56. Northwest wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Clear, with a low around 35. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light north northwest after midnight.
Friday (March 23)
Sunny, with a high near 57. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.
Saturday (March 24)
A 30 percent chance of rain after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52.
A chance of rain before 10pm, then showers likely between 10pm and 3am, then rain likely after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 43. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Sunday (March 25)
Rain likely, mainly before 9am. Cloudy, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.
